MATH 138 - PrecalculusPREREQUISITES: Demonstrated competency through appropriate assessment or successful completion with a grade of "C" or higher of MATH 043 - Intermediate Algebra CREDIT HOURS MIN: 5 An in-depth study of Quadratic, Higher Order Polynomials, Rational, Exponential, Logarithmic, and Trigonometric functions designed to fully prepare students for a calculus sequence. Other focuses include graphing of functions and solving application problems. MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be expected to: 1. Perform arithmetic operations, including conjugation, on complex numbers. Identify 16. Use basic trigonometric identities to derive other identities, including addition, subtraction, multiple-angle, and half-angle. Verify and solve trigonometric equations using identities. |
