WELD 210 - Welding Fabrication I


PREREQUISITES: WELD 108 - Shielded Metal Arc Welding I , and WELD 207 - Gas Metal Arc (MIG) Welding .

Provides for continued practice in hands-on fabrication of welded products. Include basic equipment used in fabrication.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:

  1. Describe equipment used in basic metal fabrication. [e,f]
  2. Use measuring equipment. [e,f]
  3. Prepare a bill of materials from a print chosen for the project. [e,f]
  4. Prepare a list of fabrication steps necessary to fabricate this project. [e,f]
  5. Layout the various tolerances, fits and allowances related to this project. [e,f]
  6. Layout the assigned project. [e,f]
  7. Fabricate the assigned project. [e,f]
  8. Perform visual inspection of the project. [e,f]
  9. Produce a detailed drawing of the project with welding symbols. [e,f]
  10. Demonstrate ability to read and interpret technical documents. [b,e]
  11. Demonstrate ability to use various types of software applicable to course. [a]
