Operations Management is a study of the efficient production of goods and services that will satisfy the wants and needs of identified customer groups. The course begins with a more detailed description of what Operations Management is, then moves to an examination of the customer and methods for determining customer demand.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to be able to:

  1. Describe operations management
  2. Develop and employ basic customer demand forecasts
  3. Plan the timely production of goods and services
  4. Manage the acquisition of factors of production
  5. Manage the operations process
  6. Plan for and manage the distribution of the resulting goods and services
  7. Understand the need for and insure the accomplishment of quality goods and services
