This is an in-depth course that focuses on the performance of chairside skills that are applied in a clinical office situation on live patients. This course will also focus on business office procedures appropriate in the dental office.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Prepare operatory and patients for visual and restorative procedures.
- Assist with visual and restorative procedures on clinical patients.
- Perform oral physiotherapy procedures on select clinic patients.
- Conduct dental office business procedures using computerized dental software.
- Sterilize instruments, disinfect equipment and utilize barriers per OSHA guidelines.
