AGRI 154 - Livestock Selection II PROGRAM: Agriculture CREDIT HOURS: 2 LECTURE HOURS: 1 LAB HOURS: 2 DATE OF LAST REVISION: Spring, 2019
To prepare students to participate in livestock judging competitions. This course is designed to teach livestock visual evaluation and interpret production data for different management scenarios. In addition, students will enhance their logical thinking, reasoning, and communication skills.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Critically evaluate and determine a rank of livestock based on visual appraisal, production data, and expected progeny differences.
- Develop sound reasoning skills to evaluate a situation or task by utilizing logical thinking.
- Develop a comprehensive, detailed oral presentation to defend the decisions made.
