This course is part 1 of a 2-part series. The series is based on the training program developed by the Department of Transportation and adopted by the Emergency Medical Services Commission of Indiana. It covers theories, techniques and operational aspects of pre-hospital emergency care within the scope and responsibility of the emergency medical technician (EMT). This first course covers didactic as well as laboratory practice.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Successful completion of both PARM 103 and PARM 104 is required for students to meet the national requirements and be eligible to test for certification through the National Registry of EMTs. Prior to starting PARM 104, students must have completed the College Health Examination Form along with required immunizations and screenings; Criminal Background Check; and Drug Test.
