This course is part 2 of a 2-part series. The series is based on the training program developed by the Department of Transportation and adopted by the Emergency Medical Services Commission of Indiana. It covers theories, techniques and operational aspects of pre-hospital emergency care within the scope and responsibility of the emergency medical technician (EMT). This second course covers didactic as well as laboratory practice in addition to clinical observation in a hospital emergency room and on an ambulance.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Successful completion of both PARM 103 and PARM 104 is required for students to meet the national requirements and be eligible to test for certification through the National Registry of EMTs. Additionally, students must also have completed the required clinical rotations, the skill competencies, and pass a cumulative exam over material from both PARM 103 and PARM 104 in order to be eligible for the certification exams.
