This course discusses clinically relevant large animal diseases, disease processes, and obstetric procedures. This course covers the causes, pathogenesis, clinical signs, and treatment and prevention of each disease. 

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to: 

1. Describe the causes, pathogenesis, clinical signs, treatment and prevention of clinically relevant large animal diseases and obstetric procedures.
2. Describe common zoonotic diseases of large animals as they apply to animal health and public safety.
3. Communicate the information that a client or owner would need in the event that an animal was diagnosed with a specific disease.
4. Discuss biosecurity and isolation procedures necessary in livestock operations.

* Common diseases of livestock

* Treatment and prevention of common diseases

* Reproduction and obstetrics of large animals

* Biosecurity and isolation in animal operations

* Record keeping and communication regarding diseases
