AUBR 110 - Automotive Detailing

1. Demonstrate proper shop safety practices while in the lab(s).  This includes wearing safety glasses (goggles) at all times while in the lab(s).  (a, b)
2. Define and describe different types of materials used in the detailing process.  This includes the identification of the various types of compounds and other agents used in the detailing process.  (a, f)  
3. Determine best method of paint correction.  This includes knowing what processes and products are best for completing the task at hand. (a, b, f) 
4. Demonstrate proper tape-off/protection procedures for any moldings, mirrors or other parts of the vehicle that may become damaged during the detailing process.  (a, b, d, e, f)
5. Identify different materials utilized in automotive applications and how to restore proper appearance and function of those materials.  (e, f, g)
6. Operate and identify hand and power tools.  This includes safely, storing, cleaning and properly using the tools for the application.  (a, b, c, g)
7. Perform minor paint damage repair.  This includes properly correcting a damaged clear coat surface and properly restoring (from start to finish) a painted surface that has oxidized or has been exposed to an environmental condition that causes it to degrade.  (a,b,f, g)
