This course studies the design and construction of various landscape construction systems. Emphasis is placed on the use of landscape tools and methods for exterior design. Instruction is provided on additional up-to-date techniques and materials including sustainable practices.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon the successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Organize a landscape project from beginning to end.
- Use of proper tools and equipment to accomplish a job.
- Use of proper methods in landscape construction.
- Understand the safety and legal issues found within the industry.
- Estimate cost and materials for a project.
- Identify tools and equipment used in industry.
- Demonstrate how each tool and equipment is used properly and safely.
- Demonstrate the methods used in proper landscaping projects.
- Determine which materials are most effective and efficient in the selection process.
- Introduce practices and processes with the “Green Industry.”
