PREREQUISITES: Demonstrated competency through appropriate assessment or earning a grade of “C” or better in ENGL 083 - Reading Strategies for College and ENGL 093 - Introduction to College Writing , or ENGL 095 - Integrated Reading and Writing or ENGL 075 - Co-Requisite Integrated Reading , and MATH 023 - Essentials of Algebra or higher.

Presents an insider’s view of consumer lending, offering essential information about the maze of regulations that govern credit practices, and reviews loan processing, cross selling and collections.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Define consumer lending and discuss its evolution.
- Describe key laws or regulations that affect consumer lending.
- List characteristics, benefits, and disadvantages of direct lending.
- List characteristics of open-end, revolving credit products.
- State the objectives of the loan application.
- Describe the primary sources of consumer loan information.
- Explain how the five C’s of credit are used in credit evaluation and decision making.
- Describe the factors that affect loan pricing.
- Define loan structuring and identify loan structuring options for different loan products.
- Identify types of documents required on consumer loans and describe their purpose.
- Discuss causes of consumer loan delinquencies.
- Identify the collection stages and remedies.
