ENGR 279 - Capstone Course


PREREQUISITES/COREQUISITE: MATH 261 - Multivariate Calculus, PHYS 221 - Heat Electricity and Optics or CHEM 126 - General Chemistry II, and Program Advisor Approval.

Prepare the student for articulation into a related baccalaureate Engineering program at a four-year institution. The student will prepare for, and take, the Outcomes Assessment Exam for the Engineering program. In this exam, the student must demonstrate his/her competency in the core learning subjects of the Engineering program. These subjects include chemistry, mathematics, physics, communications, computer science and engineering.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:

  1. Prepare written technical communications and reports.
  2. Deliver a verbal report or presentation which emphasizes technical content.
  3. Prepare for and take the required Outcomes Assessments Exam.
  4. Review exam performance with the instructor.
