This course teaches cost saving energy technologies. Topics include reducing home energy consumption by eliminating heat loss and heat transfer. Using smart grid technologies energy conservation is maximized through automated home electrical systems. Strategies for replacing inefficient devices and systems are explored in order to save energy and money.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be expected to:
- Introduces the Smart Meter and In Home Display.
- Developing a Home Energy Efficiency Plan.
- Conduct a Home Energy Audit.
- Upgrade home energy efficiency by reducing heat transfer.
- Analyze energy efficiency lighting and entertainment systems.
- Develop solar power systems for the home.
- Install wind turbine power for the home.
- Perform Energy Audit.
- Analyze Power Quality Data.
