This course provides an in-depth exploration of strategic and relational foundations essential for entrepreneurial success and the development of the entrepreneurial enterprise. Through tools such as the Lean Canvas and Business Model Canvas, learners will apply financial and market insights to design sustainable business models. The course also emphasizes customer journey mapping to uncover opportunities for engagement and improvement, alongside developing a strategic networking plan that leverages connections for business growth. Students will understand the importance of personal finance in relation to business finance while learning to validate business ideas for feasibility, market fit, and scalability. By the end of this course, students will develop a first draft of a business pitch deck for the business they are developing.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be expected to:

  1. Validate business ideas to determine feasibility, market fit, and scalability.
  2. Create a Lean Canvas and Business Model Canvas.
  3. Conduct a SWOT analysis for the small business.
  4. Apply financial and market insights to develop effective and sustainable business models.
  5. Map the customer journey to identify key touchpoints, pain points, and opportunities for engagement and improvement.
  6. Design a strategic networking plan that leverages personal and professional connections to support business growth and opportunity development.
  7. Understand fundamental concepts of personal and business finance.
  8. Deliver evidence-based business pitches tailored to diverse audiences.
