This course provides an overview of the information needs of lodging properties and food service establishments. The course focuses on computer-based property management systems for both front office and back-office functions. Additionally, the course analyzes selection and implementation of computer systems.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
1.Identify the common technology systems used in hospitality operations
2.Describe the various ways in which hospitality businesses use technology.
3. Interpret room management and property management interface systems.
4. Compare the ways in which hospitality businesses use technology in food and beverage management and revenue management.
5. Identify the various threats to technology systems and security measures.
