An opportunity for the intermediate Hospitality student to acquire valuable field experience by working the Hospitality Manager supervision. The student keeps a journal and prepares a report of their experience at the end of the course.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:- Recognize the operational and organizational structure of the Hospitality operation.
- Demonstrate professionalism by reporting for work on time, keeping appointments, and following the policies and procedures of the Hospitality operation.
- Discuss and demonstrate the interrelatedness of school and work.
- Apply the theories and skills from the textbook and lab classes to the realities and practicalities of the workplace.
COURSE CONTENT: Topical areas of study include - - Developing a learning plan for the field experience
- Recognizing and understanding diversity in Hospitality operations
- Transfer of knowledge and skills from academic preparation to a Hospitality operation
