HVAC 272 - HVAC Certifications PREREQUISITES: Program Chair Approval. PROGRAM: Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning CREDIT HOURS MIN: 3 LECTURE HOURS MIN: 2 LAB HOURS MIN: 2 DATE OF LAST REVISION: Fall 2023
This course will use lecture, lab and online simulation to prepare students for the nationally recognized certification exams as part of the outcome assessment learning objectives. This course will conintue the study of heating, ventalatiion, air conidtioting, and refirgeration as it applies to each regions specific needs for industry certifications.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Attain readiness to take Two ESCO HVAC Excellence Exams
- Perform labs desinged to illustrate certification material
- Demostrate and explain each certifications real world HVAC applications
- Safely perform assigned tasks following lab safety regulations
COURSE CONTENT: Topical areas of study include -
- Safety
- Installatiion practices and basic code relating to certification exams
- Routine service and preventative maintenance relating to certification exams
- Region Specific HVAC Industry Certification Exams
