INDT 260 - Projects in Manufacturing PREREQUISITES/COREQUISITE: ENGL 111 - English Composition and MATH 122 - Applied Technical Mathematics and Program Chair Approval.

Requires the student to formally display their knowledge and implementation of a broad range of skills from the Industrial Technology and Automation/ Robotics curriculum. Specifically, this course will require students, working in manufacturing teams, to develop and complete a manufacturing project, resulting in a product or service that solves a need.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Perform a needs assessment for a product or service project (e).
- Develop and submit proposals for a prototype, product or service project (e).
- Determine the material requirements for a product or service project (e).
- Develop and construct manufacturing processes to produce a product or outline for service project (e).
- Perform a cost analysis to determine the costs to produce a product or service project (e,i).
- Implement the concepts of lean manufacturing to enhance operations (i).
- Complete a final evaluation of product or service project (g).
- Produce technical documents supporting the final product or service (g).
- Demonstrate ability to read and interpret technical documents. [b,e]
- Demonstrate ability to use various types of software applicable to course. [a]
