Topics from Calculus and Analytic Geometry I, calculus to hyperbolic and inverse trigonometric functions, first and second order differential equations, integration by parts and partial fractions, convergence, Taylor and Maclaurin series expansions, and L’Hôpital’s rule.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Graph and calculate the derivatives and integrals of inverse trigonometric functions and the hyperbolic trigonometric functions.
- Solve first-order separable and linear differential equations.
- Calculate areas, lengths and volumes.
- Apply various techniques of integration.
- Determine “convergence/divergence” of improper integrals.
- Apply L’Hôpital’s rule.
- Graph, translate and rotate conics.
- Apply techniques of calculus to polar coordinate systems and parametric equations.
- Determine limits of sequences and series.
- Use integral test, ratio test, comparison test, and alternating test.
- Determine, differentiate and integrate the power series, Taylor series and Maclaurin series.
