The two primary course goals are the creation of a final portfolio for graduation, and the successful completion of an assessment of student skills related to the METC program. This will require the collection and organization of all pertinent coursework in a portfolio as well as the generation of detailed supporting information. Every student must submit upon graduation a copy of the final portfolio for review and departmental archives, and every student must take a comprehensive exam covering pertinent areas of their engineering technology education.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Produce an integrated portfolio including an organized collection of curriculum coursework, a written overview of the curriculum with a table of contents, general body/discussion, and personal conclusions, as well as a reflection relating engineering professional practices to completed coursework and future plans.
- Verifiably utilize available college career placement resources for employment, internship, or cooperative education opportunities
- Complete a Student Outcome Achievement Exam in a proctored setting

GENERAL EDUCATION OUTCOMES MEASURE
All associate degree graduates must complete the Ivy Tech General Education assessment in their capstone course. This is a capstone course requirement. The instructor will advise when and how the assessment will be administered. Performance on the assessment will be part of the course grade. Please consult your instructor with questions.
