Presents an in-depth overview of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and their use in precision agriculture and other industries. The course focuses on various types of UAV and their different uses.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:

  1. Describe the benefits of UAVs operation in the Precision Agriculture industry.
  2. Differentiate between multi-rotor and fixed wing aircraft and determine flight operating characteristics.
  3. Demonstrate safe flight operation of an UAV.
  4. Compare and Contrast UAV camera types the images that can be captured.
  5. Demonstrate UAV competency and handling in order to achieve the Part 107 UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) certification.
