Introduces the student to cross sectional anatomy. Covers the terminology related to sectional anatomy. Discusses different planes of the body and associates them with quality of images that will be encountered in clinical practice. Discusses common pathologies related to the anatomy presented. Covers anatomy in cross sectional plane and all structures and functions pertaining to the related anatomy.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Learn planes of the body and how they pertain to cross sectional anatomy.
- Learn terminology related to cross sectional anatomy.
- Cover cross sectional anatomy of the following systems: head, chest, abdomen and pelvis.
- Discuss types of common pathologies associated with related anatomy.
