This last in a series of three courses presents advanced theory and diagnosis of heavy truck electrical/electronic systems. It examines all major vehicle computer systems with an emphasis on network diagnosis, testing, and repair. This course uses lab scopes, scan tools, and graphing multimeters.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:- Examine ADAS systems and other collision avoidance schemes.
- Utilize scan tools, lab scopes, and other electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Diagnose body computer systems.
- Diagnose advanced active and passive restraint systems.
- Diagnose audio systems.
- Diagnose theft deterrent systems.
- Identify communication bus systems utilizing waveforms.
- Diagnose and repair communication BUS faults.
- Explain Bluetooth operation.
- Explain vehicle navigation system operation.
