ENTR 280 - Entrepreneurship Externship


PREREQUISITES: ENTR 218 - New Venture Launch

This externship will be an experiential learning opportunity for students to actually operate their launched business under the supervision of a faculty member and mentor. During this time students will have the resources and support needed to successfully operate their business. If a student cannot operate in their own business, the student can complete the externship with another small business owner upon approval.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:

  1. Implement a growth and development action plan for a launched business.
  2. Operate a business utilizing proper operations functions and resources.
  3. Identify strategies for financing a growing firm.
  4. Maintain adequate financial records.
  5. Set proper goals and objectives for the business to accomplish to aid in growth.
  6. Identify and create KPIs for the business.
  7. Maintain an adequate dashboard with measurable and relevant KPIs.
