This externship will be an experiential learning opportunity for students to actually operate their launched business under the supervision of a faculty member and mentor. During this time students will have the resources and support needed to successfully operate their business. If a student cannot operate in their own business, the student can complete the externship with another small business owner upon approval.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:- Implement a growth and development action plan for a launched business.
- Operate a business utilizing proper operations functions and resources.
- Identify strategies for financing a growing firm.
- Maintain adequate financial records.
- Set proper goals and objectives for the business to accomplish to aid in growth.
- Identify and create KPIs for the business.
- Maintain an adequate dashboard with measurable and relevant KPIs.
