Introduces the profession of radiology and the practitioner’s role in the health care system. It also provides students with the basic concepts of patient care dealing with the emotional and physical needs of the patients including infection control and standard precautions.

 

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 1. Apply medical terminology to describe selected medical procedures and health science professions. 

2. Describe health care environments, radiology organizations, and regulatory agencies. 

3. Discuss infection control and standard precautions. 

4. Explain professional credentialing and the associated organizations.

5. Demonstrate professional development and advancement. 

6. Describe the basis of ethics and characteristics of ethical behavior. 

7. Discuss the basis of law and major legal concerns in health care.
