Light vehicle diesel engine performance and diagnosis. This course will provide information and training on proper diagnosis of light duty automotive based diesel engines.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Demonstrate proper shop safety practices while servicing engines.
- Identify light duty diesel engine operational systems
- Diagnosis light duty diesel engine performance issues
- Evaluate light duty diesel engine injection systems
- Identify service procedures for coolant and fuel heaters.
- Perform preventative maintenance to the fuel system
- Identify and/or perform injector replacement procedures.
- Identify high pressure fuel system components.
- Perform turbocharger system testing and component replacement
- Perform scan tool diagnosis on light duty diesel applications
