CREDIT HOURS MIN: 3 CREDIT HOURS MAX: 3 LECTURE HOURS MIN: 2 LECTURE HOURS MAX: 2 LAB HOURS MIN: 2 LAB HOURS MAX: 2 TOTAL CONTACT HOURS MIN: 64 TOTAL CONTACT HOURS MAX: 64 This course presents advanced theory and diagnosis of electrical/electronic systems pertaining specifically to the Off-Road equipment industry. Examines in depth all major electrical systems with an emphasis on diagnosis, testing, and repair. This course will also cover, scan tool usage, lab scope on equipment, and theory of operation.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Demonstrate safe shop practices while working with electrical systems.
- Identify and access engine computer control sensors and systems.
- Identify, diagnose & repair equipment body computer systems.
- Identify, diagnose & repair various electrical control systems used on off-road equipment.
- Identify, diagnose & repair multi-battery starting and charging systems.
- Identify, diagnose & repair warning indicator systems, lighting, and dash gauge systems.
- Identify, diagnostic & repair equipment used for computer-controlled off-road equipment.
- Explain and troubleshoot advanced electrical system networks on off-road equipment.
