The understanding and practice of eDiscovery principles will provide students with the ability to excel as a professional in the legal community. Explore electronic evidence, data preservation, digital forensics, and legal compliance. This course uses materials from the National Society of Legal Technology, which allows students to earn a certificate from NSLT. The certificate in eDiscovery from NSLT will greatly enrich the student’s portfolio of accomplishments and serve to make students more marketable in the workforce.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 1. Explain the types of forensic collections.
2. Describe types of digital evidence.
3. Analyze facotrs affecting digital evidence collection.
4. Summarize Fed. R. Evid. on digital evidence.
5. Utilize a variety of eDiscovery tools.
6. Compare the benefits of a variety of eDiscovery tools.
7. Define the data necessary to draft or respond to a Request for Production of Documents.
8. Identify relevant data using software tools.
9. Illustrate eDiscovery project managemetn tasks.
