ASEP 209 - GM ASEP Engine Performance Systems II PREREQUISITES: ASEP 109 GM ASEP Engine Performance Systems I - ASEP 123 GM ASEP Electrical II CREDIT HOURS MIN: 3 LECTURE HOURS MIN: 2 LAB HOURS MIN: 2 TOTAL CONTACT HOURS MIN: 64 In this second course of a three-course sequence, students continue their study of internal combustion engine operation-covering both gasoline direct injection and diesel injection-on modern GM passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks. Emphasis is placed on advanced diagnosis, service, and repair of electronic control module (ECM) input sensors and output actuators, with specific attention to ECM emission-control strategies and techniques. Students practice the proper use of precision measuring tools and GM-specific service equipment to diagnose, service, and repair engine-performance systems. Throughout the course, students complete required modules in GM’s Center of Learning (service technician online training) and continue their preparation for nationally recognized ASE certification exams.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
