This course covers theory, diagnosis and repair procedures related to manual transmission/transaxles, clutches, transfer cases and differential assemblies.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Diagnose, repair, or replace clutches. (a,b,c,d,e,f,h,i)
- Diagnose shifting related concerns in manual transmissions/transaxles. (a,b,c,e,f,h)
- Disassemble, inspect, measure and reassemble manual transmissions. (a,b,c,d,e,f,h,i)
- Properly remove and replace a manual transmission or transaxle. (a,b,c,d,e,f,h,i)
- Diagnose and repair differential and drive axle concerns. (a,b,c,e,f)
- Properly set-up a differential assembly to specifications. (a,b,c,e,f,h)
- Diagnose and repair transfer case faults. (a,b,c,e,f,h)
- Diagnose AWD/FWD faults utilizing scan tool. (a,b,c,e,f,h,i)

- Service and repair of manual transmissions
- Operation and Replacement of clutches
- Operation and repair of rear differentials
- Operation and repair of transfer cases
