Explores how to manage business crises, how best to avoid them, and what managers can learn from the experience.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Analyze how crises occur and develop.
- Evaluate the role of action plans and awareness in crisis management.
- Identify offensive and defensive tactics that can be used to guard against lawsuits in times of crisis.
- Develop plans in order to avoid a crisis.
- Plan and prepare for a crisis.
- Understand the characteristics that define a crisis.
- Contain and minimize effects of the crisis.
- Effectively resolve the crisis.
- Profit from the crisis.
- Communicate effectively during a crisis.
