This course will continue to build on the principles learned in Vascular Sonography I. There will be a study of the upper and lower peripheral arterial system to include the anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Describe and understand upper and lower arterial anatomy.
- Describe and understand pathology and physiology of upper and lower extremity arterial systems.
- Describe and understand arterial testing procedures and methods.
COURSE CONTENT: Topical areas of study include -
- Arterial anatomy of the upper and lower extremity
- Disease processes of the arterial system
- Doppler and plethysmography testing procedures for the upper and lower extremities
