Prepares the student for entry into the healthcare world. Reviews procedures for interviewing, team participation, and ethical and productive job performance. Provides for taking program outcomes assessments.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:

  1. Apply skills and knowledge of what it is to be a member of a professional healthcare team.
  2. Apply skills and knowledge of compliance with standard precautions, OSHA mandates, adn HIPAA.
  3. Employ effective communication techniques in interacting appropriately with patients, their support persons, and members of the healthcare delivery system.
  4. Demonstrate professional conduct and appearance appropriate to the healthcare industry.
  5. Identify and evaluate the continuing education requirements for each professional certifications earned.
  6. Effectively prepare for employment by participating in career readiness.
