HOSP 132 - Techniques of Casino Games: Blackjack

This course will help students learn basic principles and fundamental skills for employment as a Blackjack dealer. It includes chip handling and cutting, shuffling, card delivery, call bets, procedures, accuracy and game speed. Special attention is paid to aspects of the Blackjack.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:

  1. Demonstrate handling and shuffling of cards with proficiency and speed.
  2. Distribute casino chips and handle with requisite skill to count denominations and make payoffs.
  3. Demonstrate all pertinent gaming terminology associated with Blackjack.
  4. Describe and demonstrate all procedural aspects of the game of Black including card delivery and currency.
  5. Describe game protection and cheating protection from a dealer’s perspective.
  6. Describe all corresponding paperwork concerning fills, credits, and markers from a dealer’s perspective.
