IVYC 112 - K-12 Virtual Instruction Faculty Certification PROGRAM: Office of Education Technology CREDIT HOURS MIN: 0 TOTAL CONTACT HOURS MIN: 3 DATE OF LAST REVISION: 2/19/21
This is a professional development course to enhance the virtual teaching and instructional skills of K-12 teaching faculty. Course completion results in the issuance of a Career Development Certificate (CDC). Considerations will be made for educators in grades K-5, and grades 6-12.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Develop an online course for instructional delivery with virtual and hybrid instruction best practices.
- Use virtual instruction best practices to structure an online course.
- Use hybrid instructional best practices to structure a hybrid course.
- Design and implement strategies to create a positive classroom climate and culture in a virtual setting.
- Compare and interpret assessment types and strategies in a virtual teaching environment.
- Evaluate the methodologies of measuring online learning and student success measures.
- Identify best practices related to student engagement and interactive learning in an online learning environment.
- Create resources for students and parents
- Identify student success measures in an online learning environment.
