This is a professional development course to enhance the virtual teaching and instructional skills of K-12 teaching faculty. Course completion results in the issuance of a Career Development Certificate (CDC). Considerations will be made for educators in grades K-5, and grades 6-12.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:

  1. Develop an online course for instructional delivery with virtual and hybrid instruction best practices.
  2. Use virtual instruction best practices to structure an online course.
  3. Use hybrid instructional best practices to structure a hybrid course.
  4. Design and implement strategies to create a positive classroom climate and culture in a virtual setting.
  5. Compare and interpret assessment types and strategies in a virtual teaching environment.
  6. Evaluate the methodologies of measuring online learning and student success measures.
  7. Identify best practices related to student engagement and interactive learning in an online learning environment.
  8. Create resources for students and parents
  9. Identify student success measures in an online learning environment.
