This course is designed to improve the student’s ability to write at a professional level, with appropriate attention to grammar, sentence structure, and style. Students will also become familiar with basic legal terminology.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:

  1. Understand and apply the rules of English grammar and style.
    1. Word usage, including common errors
    2. Punctuation
    3. Capitalization
    4. Grammar
    5. Rules of composition
    6. Formal writing style
    7. Sentence structure
  2. Demonstrate familiarity with legal terminology.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to write at a professional level.
