Students learn the concepts surrounding the administration, execution and drafting of Wills, Trusts and Estates. This course applies Indiana law and the provisions of the Indiana Code. Students will study a variety of other concepts, such as intestate succession; elements of a will and trust, as well as tax implications and rules.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Explain different estate planning strategies.
- Identify fiduciary duties.
- Distinguish between personal property and real property.
- Discuss various types of real property interests.
- Discuss various types of personal property interests.
