LIBA 279 - Liberal Arts Capstone Course PREREQUISITES: Successful completion of 40 program hours and Program Advisor approval PROGRAM: Liberal Arts CREDIT HOURS MIN: 1 LECTURE HOURS MIN: 1 DATE OF LAST REVISION: Summer, 2019
Provides a culminating experience designed to demonstrate the student’s mastery of information literacy; ethical and responsible behavior; political, social and environmental responsibility; and diversity awareness, both in general and in the student’s area of interest. May require a research project, presentation, and/or portfolio.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Demonstrate mastery of information literacy in general and within the student’s area of interest.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify and perform behaviors that are ethical and responsible in general and within the student’s area of interest.
- Demonstrate an understanding of political, social, and environmental responsibility in general and as these pertain to the student’s area of interest.
- Demonstrate an awareness of diversity in general and within the student’s area of interest.
COURSE CONTENT: Topical areas of study include -
- A discipline driven project or projects will be assigned to demonstrate the learning objectives above
- PROGRAM OUTCOMES ASSESSMENT
- All associate degree graduates in the Liberal Arts program must take the appropriate general education outcomes assessment for their degree program.
