LIBA 279H - Liberal Arts Capstone Course - Honors


PREREQUISITES: Successful completion of 40 program hours and Admission into the Honors College

Provides a culminating experience designed to demonstrate the student’s mastery of information literacy; ethical and responsible behavior; political, social and environmental responsibility; and diversity awareness, both in general and in the student’s area of interest. May require a research project, presentation, and/or portfolio.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:

  1. Demonstrate mastery of information literacy in general and within the student’s area of interest.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to identify and perform behaviors that are ethical and responsible in general and within the student’s area of interest.
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of political, social, and environmental responsibility in general and as these pertain to the student’s area of interest.
  4. Demonstrate an awareness of diversity in general and within the student’s area of interest.
  5. Engage in critical self-reflection and demonstrate an evolving sense of self as learner and global citizen.
  6. Articulate connections across different academic disciplines and perspectives.
  7. Demonstrate competencies in the digital ecosystem.
  8. Curate and present artifacts that provide evidence of learning inside and outside the classroom during their studies at Ivy Tech.
