MORT 220 - Mortuary Science Seminar PREREQUISITES: Program Chair Approval PROGRAM: Mortuary Science CREDIT HOURS MIN: 1 LECTURE HOURS MIN: 1 DATE OF LAST REVISION: Fall, 2019
This course is designed for the student to prepare for and complete the National Board Examination. This examination is a graduation requirement and students must successfully complete the examination in order to become licensed funeral directors/ embalmers in most states. MORT 220 reviews the major learning objectives of the core MORT curriculum as they relate to the National Board Examination. The course also examines various testing methodologies and test taking strategies. Upon successful completion students will meet the requirements for the program to be released for the National Board Exam which is a state requirement for licensure.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Explain different testing methodologies that may be found on the National Board Examination for Funeral Service
- Employ effective strategies to complement the various testing methodologies that may be found on the National Board Examination.
- Demonstrate mortuary science core competencies through completion of comprehensive examinations covering all aspects of the Mortuary Science Curriculum
- Formulate effective testing strategies to successfully complete both sections of the National Board Examination
