An awareness of the concepts of rescue and the preparation for a response to a scene/incident is provided. The essentials of crime scene awareness, medical incident command and hazardous materials operations are presented.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be expected to demonstrate competency and integrate comprehensive knowledge of National EMS Educational Standards for the following topic areas:

  • Principles of Safely Operating a Ground Ambulance
  • Incident Management
  • Mass Casualty Incidents
  • Air Medical
  • Vehicle Extrication
  • Hazardous Materials Awareness
  • MCI due to Terrorism and Disaster
