Covers the economic, organizational, and quality control strategies employed by production technicians to maximize efficiency in plastics manufacturing operations.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Understand the various elements of cost in a plastic product, and how they are affected by manufacturing personnel. [a,e]
- Understand the basic concepts and skills required for effective production supervision.[a,d,e]
- Understand the techniques involved and benefits of method improvement and efficient workplace layout.[a,d,e]
- Understand the responsibilities and requirements for compliance with the major safety and environmental regulations covering the plastics industry. [a,e,h,i]
- Identify the basic elements typically found in the formal quality systems utilized by the major industrial users of plastic products. [a,e,i]
