This course will expand the students’ knowledge of datacenter virtualization and storage used in enterprise systems. The student will also gain knowledge in the areas of performance metrics, disaster recovery options and storage virtualization.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to:
- Demonstrate ability to install and configure a Type 1 Hypervisor.
- Explain the types of Storage needed\available for enterprise solutions.
- Demonstrate the ability to configure virtual machines to access different types of storage.
- Compare different Cloud and on-premises storage and virtualization solutions.
- Explain the role of storage virtualization in a modern enterprise.
- Describe the role virtualization and storage play in Disaster recovery.
- Exhibit understanding of the performance metrics related to storage and virtualization.
- Configure monitoring of storage and performance metrics.
- Differentiate between the different storage connectivity types and their characteristics
