ABRK 229 - Respirable Crystalline Silica Training PROGRAM: Apprenticeship Technology - Building Trades CREDIT HOURS MIN: 1 LECTURE HOURS MIN: 1 DATE OF LAST REVISION: Fall 2022
This course is designed to help with compliance of the new OSHA Standard to protect workers from exposure to respirable crystalline silica for the construction industry.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Identify existing and foreseeable respirable crystalline silica hazards in the workplace and take prompt corrective measures to eliminate or minimize them.
- Understand OSHA’s new requirements surrounding the new Respirable Crystalline Silica.
- List the importance of Signs and Labels, Housekeeping, and dust avoidance.
- Use the assigned PPE in an effective and safe manner.
- Identify the types of required control measures and respiratory protection for respirable crystalline silica.
- Recognize employer responsibilities and employee rights under the standard on respirable crystalline silica.
- Explain the procedure to report any unsafe conditions or acts to the Site Manager.
