HUMS 162 - Community Health Worker


PREREQUISITES: Demonstrated competency through appropriate assessment or earning a grade of “C” or better in ENGL 083 Reading Strategies for College and ENGL 093 Introduction to College Writing, or ENGL 095 Integrated Reading and Writing, or ENGL 075 Co-Requisite Integrated Reading and Writing

A Community Health Worker is a frontline worker trained in care coordination, case management, coaching, and cultural competency. After satisfactory completion of this course, students will have met the requirements to be a Certified Community Health Worker in Indiana through the Indiana Community Health Workers Association. 

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 1. Complete the Community Health Worker end of course assessment by demonstrating competencies in the following areas:
