CREDIT HOURS MIN: 1.5 CLINICAL - NURSING HOURS MIN: 4.5 Understands the health care needs of patients experiencing alterations in immune and metabolic health concepts as it relates to patients across the lifespan. Applies conceptual knowledge to provide safe, quality, compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care for patients experiencing alterations in immune and metabolic health concepts. Demonstrates the role of the registered nurse by applying clinical judgment as the framework for critical thinking in the application of nursing care as it relates to patients experiencing alterations in immune and metabolic health concepts.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Incorporate concepts in providing legal, ethical, culturally competent, and holistic care for patients experiencing alterations in health. (SLO 1, 6)
- Apply clinical judgment when determining care of patients experiencing alterations in health within the context of identified concepts. (SLO 2)
- Provide evidence-based nursing care to patients with alterations in health within the context of identified concepts. (SLO 1)
- Collaborate with intra- and interdisciplinary teams within the role of the registered nurse as it relates to patients with alterations in select health concepts. (SLO 4, 5)
- Demonstrate proficiency in dosage calculations and medication administration. (SLO 1, 2, 5)
- Integrate the use of technology in the healthcare and community settings to promote health and wellness for patients with alterations in select health concepts. (SLO 5)
