CREDIT HOURS MIN: 1.5 CLINICAL - NURSING HOURS MIN: 4.5 Understands the health care needs of family and community health patients. Applies conceptual knowledge to provide safe, quality, compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care for family and community health patients. Demonstrates knowledge of the registered nurse’s role while applying clinical judgment in the family and community health care setting.
MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Interpret changes in patient status using safe and effective evidence-based practices in diverse and inclusive patient populations. (SLO 1)
- Demonstrate clinical judgment to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a variety of care settings with reproductive, family, and community health patients. (SLO 2)
- Implement effective communication and collaboration between all members of the intra- and interdisciplinary team including the patient and the patient’s support system in promoting quality care of reproductive, family, and community health patients. (SLO 4, 6)
