Applies safe, patient centered care in patients with complex health issues in a variety of settings. Demonstrates clinical judgment when caring for patients with complex health problems. Performs within the role and scope of practice for the licensed practical nurse. Engages in leadership and communication behaviors during interactions with the intra- and interdisciplinary teams, patients and families.

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  1. Function within the role of the licensed practical nurse. (SLO 1, 2, 6)
  2. Employ clinical judgment to provide safe, quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care to adults with complex health care. (SLO 1,2)
  3. Collaborate with intra- and interdisciplinary teams within the role of the licensed practical nurse as it relates to patients with complex health problems. (SLO 4, 5)
  4. Integrate the use of technology in the healthcare settings to promote health and wellness for patients with complex health problems. (SLO 5)
  5. Demonstrate proficiency in dosage calculations and medication administration. (SLO 1, 2, 5)
