About the Program
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program will prepare you to work, under the supervision of a physical therapist, with physically impaired persons to help reverse adverse effects of physical disability. The therapist and assistant work together to provide appropriate therapeutic intervention and communication within the health care team. We offer an excellent education that prepares each student to pass board exams and to be a successful PTA.
The Physical Therapist Assistant program is a selective admission program. When you apply to the College, you will be accepted into Healthcare Support with a concentration in Physical Therapist Assistant while you complete the prerequisite requirements. The Physical Therapist Assistant program accepts a limited number of students each year and there is a separate application process.
Choose your campus of interest below for more information before testing. When you are ready to test, you may make your appointment at https://cass.ivytech.edu/selfserve/.
Students who are admitted to the program will be required to pay for and submit to a criminal background check, drug testing and physical exam. The details and process will be provided at an orientation. Please contact the program faculty for more detailed information.
Our Graduates
Our graduates of the Physical Therapist Assistant program, upon completion of board exams, are able to enter the workforce right away in a variety of settings as a Physical Therapist assistant.
