About the Program
The Mechanical Engineering Technology (METC) Program at Ivy Tech Community College is a great opportunity for those who enjoy hands-on experiences. Curriculum in this program allows students to learn about materials, testing, and design. They will also learn skills such as synthesizing, improving and implementing mechanical designs. Students will gain a necessary understanding in order to support engineering processes such as collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
Our Graduates
Graduates of our Associate of Science (AS) degree can seamlessly transfer to a four-year institution through our “Transfer as a Junior” program, entering at a junior status. Please keep in mind, you will also need to be admitted to the four-year institution you intend to transfer to, admission is not guaranteed just by enrolling in a Transfer as a Junior program.
Transfer Partners
Our program prepares students to transfer to a four year engineering technology program at universities such as Purdue or IUPUI. At these universities students will be able to enhance their technology, science, and math skills to work with engineers and other technicians. Areas of work entry include design, manufacturing, transportation, computer and electronics. If you would like to learn more about our transfer partnerships, talk to your transfer advocate!

Completion Guides
Completion guides provide the recommended path to graduation, broken out by 8-week term. Courses are also numbered to show an overall number for students taking fewer classes at a time. Please consult with your advisor to determine which classes are the best option for you to take.
